WELCOME TO YOUTH AT FUMC ALABASTER

Hey Friends! We are so glad you are visiting us today! The student ministry here at FUMC Alabaster exists to serve and support the spiritual and developmental growth of our students. We believe that we are called to actively participate in the work of the church by reaching others for christ, pushing ourselves to grow in our faith, and seeking out ways to serve those around us.

Discovery 2026

January 16-18

Save the date for a transformative weekend packed with worship, small groups, teaching, games, and lots of fun — created to help students discover more about who God is, who they are in Christ, and their part in the greater story of faith.

Sunday Nights

Youth Nights at FUMC Alabaster are a great time for 6th-12th grade students!
Sunday nights are for students to relax, recharge, and reconnect. We’ll hang out, play games, enjoy snack supper, and spend time in God’s word through relevant, real-life lessons. It’s a space to build friendships, ask big questions, and grow in faith together. Once a month, we’ll mix things up and head out for a fun outing - think arcade, laser tag, or something unexpected.
Come as you are and bring a friend!

Wednesday Nights

Wednesdays from 6-7pm are all about slowing down and spending time together. After a busy day of school and activities, students can come enjoy a laid-back evening with friends.
Girls will meet in a small group setting to talk, connect, and grow in faith, while guys will hang out, play games, and have a short devotional.

It's simple, low-key, and centered on community.

Sunday School

Join us for Sunday School on Sunday mornings! Students 4th grade and up can start the day in the Youth Room with donuts and fellowship. At 10:00 AM, we break out into groups: Step Up meets with Mrs. Leslie, and Youth Sunday School gathers in Room 206. Our Youth Sunday School uses GROW Curriculum. This bundle includes 13 complete teaching series designed specifically for middle and high school students. With relevant topics, creative themes, and gospel-centered truth, each series helps students explore their faith, ask honest questions, and grow in their relationship with God. Every series includes weekly big ideas, Bible passages, small group discussion guides, and more to help leaders create a fun and engaging environment.

Confirmation

Confirmation at Alabaster FUMC is an important milestone for young people exploring their faith. It's a time when our 6th grade students, with the support of their families and church community, take a step forward in embracing their beliefs. Through teachings and discussions led by pastors, staff, and Confirmation mentors, students will get the opportunity to learn more about the Christian faith and what it means to be a part of The United Methodist Church. It's a time for personal growth and discovery, where they can ask questions, learn from others, and make a personal commitment to follow Jesus Christ. Confirmation empowers the Confirmands to become active participants in the life of the church, preparing them to live out their faith with integrity, compassion, and purpose.

Confirmation Classes start each year in August and conclude in February with a celebration service on Confirmation Sunday. During this service, the confirmands will have the opportunity to be confirmed, be baptized (if they haven’t already), and join the Church.
